About us
Love Stories is Wales’s first brick-and-mortar romance bookshop, located in Cardiff. We opened our doors in December 2025.
We offer a curated selection of romantic fiction in all its subgenres, focusing on celebrating diverse and inclusive romance literature while fostering a local community through in-person browsing, events, and book discussions.
Our core book stock is made up of new releases, contemporary, fantasy, LGBTQ+, historical fiction, young adult, and general fiction titles (as well as a whole host of other genres!). If it features a love story, we strive to stock it!
Alongside books, we also stock a range of bookish accessories and gifts, with a focus on independent, women-owned businesses.
Meet the team
Aimee (she/her)
Co-Founder, Bookseller
Aimee is the co-founder and bookseller at Love Stories. A lifelong romance reader, a habit she attributes to when her mum would lend her (likely not age-appropriate) books in an attempt to keep her occupied.
Deciding that academia was no longer for her, she wanted to focus on what really made her happy: books! A throwaway comment of, “I should open a bookshop” and an answering, “do it” from her husband (see below) resulted in Wales’s first romance-focused bookshop. Currently, alongside running Love Stories, she is completing her PhD in the Social Sciences.
Charlie (he/him)
Co-Founder, Head of Spreadsheets
Charlie is the other co-founder of Love Stories Bookshop and is in charge of tackling all the adult responsibilities that come with owning a small business.
An avid reader of fantasy and science-fiction, Charlie spends most of his free time running, cooking, or cleaning up after the menagerie of animals Aimee insists they share a home with.
